Cursor surrounded by square of vertical lines

    Hi all,

My cursor displays fine, but is surrounded by a square formed by vertical lines. The cursor appears in the upper left corner of the square.

    Kubuntu 7.10
AMD Athlon 2200+, ASRock V7 MB, ATI Radeon 7000 AGP 64MB, Mitsubishi Projection TV DVI to HDMI connection set at 720p, 512MB RAM.

    Radeon driver
Plug & Play Monitor driver (Widescreen 16:9)

The screen looks great except for the mouse and some text is corrupted by small vertical lines.

    Thanks,

    Dave.

Answer: Cursor surrounded by square of vertical lines

RF interference was being displayed on the screen.

Fix: I was running the machine without the side panels on. Once the panels were replaced, the text and cursor cleared up.

Screen looks great on a 52" rear projection HDTV!

I am glad that was the only problem. I did not want to tell you your Radeon card was ready for the dumpster!
