Hello, I am new to Linux and trying to install Kubuntu on my media center. Have been using Windows MCE for some time, but gotten sick and tired of the crashing and problems. Hoping Linux is more stable!
Unfortunately I am having some problems getting the system to recognize all my components. I am running a Philips Media Center MCP9350i.
My primary concern is that I cant get any sound output. I seem to be running a basic Intel HD card, 82801G (rev 1). Not sure if philips have added something to the basic configuration, but at the back I have an optical and compositve digital-out as well as two RCA/Cinch connections. I do not have a digital audio-in on my amplifier, so the only thing I can use is the normal RCA/Cinch connection of a red and white cable. I have tried both the RCA connections, but no sound.
As I said, I am very new to Linux, so not quite sure where I should start or what I could do to solve the problem. Could anyone help me with this problem?
