I have a Seagate 200gb Sata drive can I install Kubuntu on it?

Sure as long as your BIOS "sees" the SATA drive. You can somewhat test how Kubuntu will get along with your SATA drive by downloading the Live CD and giving it a try. It won't be 100% definitive until you actually install, but it'll give you some idea of hardware compatibility. -

short answrer YES. But I personally had problems if I tried to boot from the SATA if I had PATA drives as well. I had to put grub on the first standard drive rather than the first SATA drive.

Sata currently only drive in system. I'am only using half capacity of drive have the other half for use with Kubuntu.Comment
