help don't know what i was thinking i upgraged my kubuntu 7.1 to the alpha herdy, but anyway the result is now its totaly messed up, broken packages not much works - can i put it back to how it was or am i stuffed thanks

I made the same mistake once, but lucky me I had a full system image and my data aren't on the system partition anyway. So I personally recommend you to install it again. Save your data and your preferences (home folder) to a save place. After you have your system back and running, make an image of it.

It is version 7.10, not 7.1

7 = 2007
10 = October
