    Wifi help

    Hi everybody,
new to the whole linux operating system, but very eager to learn.
I know with previous distro's there were problems with using WiFi, well, here's what I'm trying to do.
I have a somewhat old IBM laptop, I'm connecting to a linksys wifi router wrt54g v5 with a Microsoft MN-720 PCMCIA WiFi adapter. The router is password protected.
If there are drivers or something I need to download could you point me in the right direction please?
    Thanks so much everyone.

Check out my instructions in this post. Follow them and you should be good to go. Follow up with any problems.

          Re: Wifi help

I followed the instructions to the letter. I did not go through with compiling from source as your old post said not to. It seems like there was no change whatsoever and the card does not light up, at all. Even after I've removed it and plugged it back in (hoping to god that an autodetect picked it up)
I'm currently installing wicd to see if it might help.
