    hi, linuxers!

Open Adept Manger and select opera for installation.

    K Menu | System | Adept Manager

In the Search: window type opera
    Uncheck the description box

opera will be listed below. Click on the > next to the name. Then click on Request Install. Then, up on the main title bar, click on Apply Changes.

As far as I know Opera is not in the repositories.

      You can download it from:
      http://www.opera.com/download/index.dml?platform=linux

Then either simply click on it and follow the instructions to install.

Or navigate to the file using a konsole and install with:
      Code:
      sudo dpkg -i opera_9.25-20071214.6-shared-qt_en_i386.deb

Opera is available in the 'partner' repositories. Enable them using your choice. It is Opera 9.25.

I am using the 9.50b beta since it works with the newest flash plugin. The beta must be downloaded from Opera's website and installed.

I'm pleased as Punch that this works for you although I don't have a problem with Konqueror or Firefox.

It is, however, a little risky to install apps that are not in the repositories and that have been tested by the dev. team. It could break your system due to something called a failed dependency.

If there is some software that you really want, request that it be added to the repositories.

            stop press!
I've just seen monte48lowes post - It is in the repos - go get it there.
