    Upgrading a package

i'm interested in installing subversion on gutsy. the current subversion version is 1.4.6. the version in the gutsy repository is 1.4.4. what is the best way to install 1.4.6 now and keep it 1.4.x current in the future? does this mean i can't use the package manager that comes with kubuntu?

    thanks,

    Re: Upgrading a package

Reviewing http://subversion.tigris.org/project...inary-packages, a 1.4.6 binary package for *ubuntu isn't listed. There is one for Debian. *ubuntu is a Debian based Linux OS, but doesn't follow the strict directory heirachy of Debian. I'm not sure that you could download/intall the 1.4.6 Debian binary in *ubuntu, although you could try - if you are of a mind to do so.

Their main page states: "Subversion 1.4.6 is now available. It is a bugfix release for the 1.4.x line."
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
