gray screen on live cd

I have a Compaq laptop with nVidia GO6150 graphics and Windows Vista Premium.

When I try to run the mailed live cd, 64-bit and regular, in regular and safe graphics mode, I get a gray noise screen. I can't seem to get anything else.

I am having the same problem as you hchanman, I have contacted Compaq multiple times with the same response. I was told to do a text install then install the GUI from root. I'm not to comfortable with going that route, is there anybody that knows another solution?

I agree, I don't want to risk the screwups that could happen from a text install and GUI stuff.
