how to get f-spot working in Gutsy

I have been using ubuntu for 6 months and recently switched to Kubuntu 7.10. All is smooth sailing except I can't get f-spot to work. I want to use it and its screensaver in Kubuntu but get this message when I try to launch f-spot from menu. It works from terminal when I type
    Code:
    dbus-launch f-spot
the error message from f-spot when launched from the menu is
    F-spot encountered a fatal error
f-spot cannnot find the Dbus session bus. Make sure dbus is configured properly or start a new session for f-spot using "dbus-launch f-spot"
    error details
An unhandled exception was thrown: F-Spot cannot find the Dbus session bus. Make sure dbus is configured properly or start a new session for f-spot using "dbus-launch f-spot"

A "quick fix" would be to edit the application from the K Menu (right-click select Edit Item) and in the Command window type dbus-launch f-spot
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Thanks that seems to fix launching from the menu, also learnt a new thing about KDE.
Still don't see the f-spot screensaver as an option in the system settings- any ideas?
