I am looking for a packet sniffing program to see what's going on in my home network. I want to monitor all traffic on the network. I have tried ethereal but it doesn't monitor traffic on the other pcs on my network.

Hi,
Are you using a router (switch) or a hub ? If you're using a switch, you will not be able to see it from one computer of your network...

And make sure Ethereal is set to capture in promiscuous mode.Comment

Theres no way you can monitor all the ports onto a single PC unless you have a decent switch. You will see all broadcast traffic and thats it. If its a hub you will be OK.
Alternatively you could install ethereal on each PC....i tend to use tcpdump for capture and post analysis with ethereal.Comment
