kubuntu sound problems

Hey installed kubuntu yesterday and loving it apart from the fact that i cant get any sound to play. Kubuntu seems to recognize both my onboard sound and soundcard yet i cant hear anything if I try and play a cd, also no other sounds play.

Anything i'm doing wrong? Ive done a search but not found much. thanks

since you have two soundcards, try disabling the onboard sound and see if that helps. If not, try removing your PCI sound card and using the onboard.

Thanks Alpha. Turning of the onboard sound at bios did the trick!
