    Dolphin bookmark error

Hi all, I'm in the process of getting kubuntu 7.10 running on my older dell laptop. So far, it's working pretty well thanks to advice I got from this forum. But I'm having some kind of permissions problem with various programs. For example, every time I close Dolphin, I get this error message:

Unable to save bookmarks in /home/ken/.kde/share/apps/d3lphin/bookmarks.xml. Reported error was: Permission denied. This error message will only be shown once. The cause of the error needs to be fixed as quickly as possible, which is most likely a full hard drive.
The hard drive isn't full. Another, possibly related example is starting Konqueror using sudo from the command line. I get this:

    ken@Europa:~$ sudo konqueror
    [sudo] password for ken:
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-ken" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/tmp/kde-ken" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/tmp/ksocket-ken" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-ken" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-ken" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-ken" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-ken" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
    ken@Europa:~$

I get that error a lot.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm getting close to the point where I can kiss windows good bye (on this machine at least!)

    Ken

ken487 - can you post exactly which link solved your issue? I am having the same problem in Dolphin that you describe.

It was in this thread: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3087658.0

I just did this in a terminal window:

          sudo chown ken:ken /home/ken/.kde/share/apps/d3lphin/bookmarks.xml
