Another Adept problem (Solved)

While using adept i wanted to do a search but hit preview button instead of search which locked up adept. Closed adept and could not get back in. In konsole
eric@eric-laptop:~$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
Password:
dpkg: status database area is locked by another process
eric@eric-laptop:~$
Pls help

Perform a KDE restart - Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. When you are back on the desktop, open a console and try the command again.
