How do I install a Quicktime plugin for Firefox in Kubuntu?

    Hello,

I'm learning Japanese in College and I need the Quicktime plugin installed for Firefox in order to view some of the Japanese language study content on the internet.

If I click on "Install missing plugin" it takes me to the Quicktime website. If I click on the download button it tries to download a file for Max OSX leopard that has the extension ".dmg".

I was unable to find a link to any Linux or Kubuntu ".deb" installers for the Quicktime plugin. Is there a way to get the Quicktime plugin to install and work in Firefox under Kubuntu? How can I solve this problem?

    My Specs:
    Kubuntu Gutsy Gibson v7.10
    Firefox v2.0.0.11
    Comp: Dell Dimension 8300
    CPU Pentium 4
    Memory: 1GB
Note: The Sound card is built into the Motherboard. Sound was tested by playing an MP3 and appears to be functioning ok under Kubuntu.

    I'm using mplayer + mozilla-mplayer =>

    Topic: quicktime/wmv ?

    From the repositories:

    mozilla-mplayer, MPlayer-Plugin for Mozilla
mplayerplug-in is a Mozilla browser plugin to allow playing embedded
movies on web pages using mplayer.
    or maybe
mozilla-plugin-vlc, multimedia plugin for web browsers based on VLC
This plugin adds support for MPEG, MPEG2, DVD, DivX, Ogg/Vorbis and many
more formats to your Gecko-based web browser (Firefox, Galeon, etc.). The
decoding process is done by VLC and the output window is embedded in a
webpage or directly in the browser window. There is also support for
    fullscreen display and javascript control.

VLC is the VideoLAN project's media player. It plays MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4,
DivX, MOV, WMV, QuickTime, mp3, Ogg/Vorbis files, DVDs, VCDs, and multimedia
    streams from various network sources.
    or maybe
kaffeine-mozilla, mozilla plugin that lanches kaffeine for supported media types
This mozilla plugin launches kaffeine, the xine-based media player for KDE,
when a page containing a supported media format is loaded.
    More plugins (in the konsole):
    Code:
    :~$ apt-cache search Plugin Mozilla

    about: URI scheme

    aboutlugins tells:
