What make/model of printer do you have, and when you open K Menu | System Settings | Printers and you have your default printer highlighted, what does the Model: report on the Information tab (full description please)?Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: Will not print PDF
Mate it's a canon iP4200. When I was setting it up there was no driver for it on the list so I chose the driver for the iP4000, and as I said ti prints all but PDF. in the default printer printer box it says,
Type: Local Printer
State: Idle (accepting jobs)
Location:
Description: Canon iP4000
URI: ipp://Local Host:631/printers/james
Device: usb:/canon/iP4200
Model: Canon iP4000 foomatic/gutenprint-ijs simplified.5.0.

Give the printer a different name. Make sure it works - print a test page. Then, select it as default. Try to print a pdf document to it.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: Will not print PDF
Ok mate, tried that, no go. There are 2 drivers come up when I select the printer brand and number. The one with "simplified" in it and one exactly the same but without the word "simplified" in it. Tried it both ways, not co-operating.

Re: Will not print PDF
Thanks again for that mate. I get so far with this then I get this.
james@james:~$ sudo alien cnijfilter-common-2.60-1.i386.rpm cnijfilter-ip4200-2.60-1.i386.rpm
[sudo] password for james:
sudo: alien: command not found

Re: Will not print PDF
Did you actually get/install alien with the apt-get command first - Step 2 of the instructions? The response you are getting implies that alien is not installed?Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: Will not print PDF
Trust me, I'm not doubting you. But, the post you just made implies that you didn't run:
Code:sudo apt-get install alien libxml1 libpng12-0 libpng12-dev libgtk1.2 libgtk1.2-common
Does Adept Manager show that Alien is installed?Windows no longer obstructs my view.
