    Mouse problem, I think.

Gooday all. I have taken the plunge and got rid of windoze. I got rid of everything off the hard drive using the grub disc then re-installed kubuntu from my original disc. Then I updated to the latest version. I had some dificulties a while back and recieved some excellent help from you blokes on this forum. So, I went to a couple of the posts to get the info to fix a couple of things and when I try to copy and paste a link or anything for that matter, I get no result from right clicking the highlighted area. No little box with the usual commands in it, nothin. Same any wher in the field. Any one run across this before? TiA. Regards, James.
Ps, a very merry christmas to you all, where-ever you are. Can't wait to get stuck into all those prawns and the beer!!

Please post your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file here. Also, what kind of mouse are you using?

Gooday again. The response to that command is " permission denied". the mouse is an ordinary optical mouse with left/right click and centre scrolling wheel.

        Alright, run the command
        Code:
        kdesu kate /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Enter your password when prompted; that'll open the file in Kate (make sure you enter a capital "X" in

Edit: If you want, you can even run the command
        Code:
        cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
in a terminal shell, that way, you can preview the file without having to be root; then just copy and paste the output here.

Looks OK to me; what kind of mouse is it? PS2 or USB?

Ps2 mate. Given that it was a new install and the screen went to sh#te too I have done a new install and I am just now doing the update to the latest version. Let you know how I go. Happy holidays from the land down under. James.

Thanks, and a very merry Christmas to you too Maybe it's just a bug with that particular installation that will be fixed with your new one.
