KDE is not loading, just recently installed NVIDIA 169.07

When Kubuntu (Gutsy Gibbon) boots up it goes to the command prompt. Is it possible to switch back to the VESA driver instead?

If you can get to a command prompt run:

    Code:
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
Choose the VESA driver and use defaults for everything else you don't know how to answer.

I love you man, it worked!! Now is it possible to use the Nvidia 169.07 drivers without screwing up the display?

          Possible --- YES. Easy -- no .....

Try to do it like this, and let me know if there are problems:

Okay so I did all that but I didn't see the splash of nvidia. I checked in the system settings and the driver running is still VESA. I did install it successfully though

Well I tried the Envy program uninstalled the previous but that still didn't work. I keep reverting back to VESA. I may have to just use windows for now, until I find a way to install drivers for my 8800GT.
