When Kubuntu (Gutsy Gibbon) boots up it goes to the command prompt. Is it possible to switch back to the VESA driver instead?

If you can get to a command prompt run:

Now is it possible to use the Nvidia 169.07 drivers without screwing up the display?
Try to do it like this, and let me know if there are problems:

Well I tried the Envy program uninstalled the previous but that still didn't work. I keep reverting back to VESA. I may have to just use windows for now, until I find a way to install drivers for my 8800GT.
