    Problem Playing Video In KDE environment

    just got kubuntu 7.10 on my pc . having problems playing video files . any suggestions plz.

    Depending on what type of video you are playing you may need some proprietary formats. Do a search on the forum for restricted formats. You will find detailed instructions and where and how to download and install them. This is what I did.
    Also, make sure you have the flashplayerplugin installed. Beware, however, apparently there is a bug in the newest version. See the announcement on this forum's home page.

      In order to play commercial DVDs, follow my HOWTO: Get commercial DVD playback in Kaffeine

      If you are wanting to play flash videos, that's a different matter.
      Windows no longer obstructs my view.
