I already saw 20 pages of this Help the New Guy topic and seemed no related subject...
This week is my first *buntu experience. At first I installed Kubuntu using Japanese language and had no problem when inputting jpnese character. But since this language makes all application translated to jpnese I did fresh installation, this time using English language.
The problem is now I can`t input Jpnese character. My friend told me to install anthy from Adept manager but I can`t find one. Reading many tutorial from many sites also seemed not working. I still can`t find Japanese in Language Support.
Questions are :
1. Do I have to be connected to internet to install that Jpnese language Support? Can`t I do offline installation after downloading necessary packages? For example, if I want to install Kubuntu in 5 PC, should they all be connected to internet? Wouldn`t it be convenient if I download all necessary packages at ones and then do offline installation to each PC?
2. When installing by choosing Japanese language, I didn`t encounter this problem. Logically it means that in that CD, all necessary packages are already included but not automatically installed when you install using English language. Is it true? If yes, where can I find those necessary packages?
3. Assume that I already have those packages. How can I install them so that I can type Jpnese input correctly? Currently my Kubuntu only support English. When I see Scim, there are only india, thai, vietnam language supported but no jpnese...
This is out of topic,
now I`m torrenting DVD version of Kubuntu. what`s the difference? only looking at the size...hey it`s 6x larger !
thanks for your kind reply
