Open programs and windows don't show in the taskbar

    Hey everyone,

New to the Forum and looking to learn more about Linux. I have been using Kubuntu for several months and need help as I am learning linux.

I was messing with the taskbar/toolbar thing to move the Icons around and did something that made it so open programs or windows no longer show up on the taskbar. If I mouse over one of Desktop icons it will show that there are several programs there but they do not show in the bottom taskbar. If I click the different desktop button they still do not show up.

Here is an example: I open Konquerer and minimize it and then it disappears and there is no trace of it. So I can't reopen it. Then if I try to open another application like Adept and minimize it, I then cannot reopen it since it is allready running but hidden somewhere.

How do I get programs to show back up in the taskbar/toolbar menu at the bottom of the screen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might have (accidentally) removed the taskbar applet from the panel. To add it, right-click on the panel>Add applet>Task bar

Thanks. I will give that a try later tonight when I get home.
