help me get rid of evil Vista

HI!

I have trouble getting rid of Vista on my laptop. When I install Kubuntu 7.10, installation stops at 11% and it says searching through /cdroom/pool/main/g…
I have tried earlier with 7.04 with no luck, I couldn’t start live cd or install kubuntu. when i tried to start live cd noticed error messages then it changed to lite blue screen which changed to dark blue over a minute . Can some one give me a tip or direct to right thread?

It really sounds like a defective CD, which can be caused by one of three (at least) things:

1. Burned too fast -- you need to burn at only 4x speed.
2. Blank media defect -- try again, or try on a different brand of blank media.
3. Burner problem -- try on someone else's CD burner.

It really sounds like a defective CD, which can be caused by one of three (at least) things:

Well, that's easy to test. When the CD boots up, instead of installing, choose the option to check the disk for defects.
