    Problem after first installation

    Hi to everybody.
I've just finished installing kubuntu 6. I had no problems during installation, I removed cd and reboot my pc but now it doesn't start. It stops when kubuntu logo appears...
    Could you help me?

    Many thanks

    Re: Problem after first installation

Most likely there is an issue with your video card and the drivers you have installed for it. Post some information regarding what you are installing kubuntu on. What video card for example.

        Re: Problem after first installation

ubuntu does not use a root account by default. Instead it is setup to allow users who are assigned to the 'admin' group access to sudo. So instead of typing 'su' to get root access, type 'sudo <command>'. When it asks for a password, that is your password. Hope this helps.

          many thanks!

I don't understand why sometime kubuntu starts, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried to install it 3 times but nothing changed. It crashes before the password request.

          Thanks for your help.
