    Wireless Broadcom 4312 ?

    Still another problem...
I installed ndiswrapper 1.49 and loaded the win driver, after that i set the modprobe and all did fine, i rebooted and my wireless seems to be active, the button state passes from red to blue.
The problem is that it apears as eth1 instead of wlan0.
Can someone give me a and on this?

    Thank's

    Have a look at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ireless+feisty

This looks like Problem 1 which I ran into:

    SOLUIONS TO PROBLEMS

    Problem 1
Totoro found a fix for the eth1 problem. Thank You Totoro!
    add ndiswrapper to /etc/modules
change eth1 -> wlan0 in the files below:

    sudo gedit /etc/modeprobe.d/ndiswrapper
    sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces
    sudo gedit /etc/iftab

Sorry! Ubuntu speak again, not Kubuntu speak.

      Instead of sudo=kdesu
      Instead of gedit=kate

          Well here it goes:

kdesu kate /etc/modeprobe.d/ndiswrapper ( file is blank)
kdesu kate /etc/network/interfaces ( it appears: auto lo
          iface lo inet loopback)
kdesu kate /etc/iftab ( file is blank )

            And did you?
            add ndiswrapper to /etc/modules
You need to be careful when a file appears blank. You could (hypothetically) command: kdesu kate /etc/fred and it would open a file called fred. But a file called fred did not previously exist - it has just created one - it does not report: file fred not found.

Yesterday i ran all the commands in the tutorial about installing and config ndiswrapper, all went fine no errors during the process, i did just like the explanation and i got all the rigth messages on config modules, the file ndiswrapper already was in /etc/modprob.d

I'm afraid I don't know what the problem is and I need to stand aside for someone else to help.

I have followed the howto two or three times now with success.

                My file /etc/modeprobe.d/ndiswrapper reads
                alias eth1 ndiswrapper
                /etc/network/interfaces starts
                # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # and how to activate them. For more information see...
                /etc/network/iftab says at the beginning
                # This file assigns persistent names to network interfaces. # See ...
