    I'm new User... Help Me!

    Hi Guys, i'm new user, i'd like to istall kubuntu on my notebook in a partition, so i can use windows for my old applications and kubunt for my new apllications, how to istall linux in a partition of my hdd?!
    is there an italian forum for kubuntu user?! Mty english is very horrible...

    Is your notebook HDD already partitioned. If it is not, my favourite way to do this is to use a program like "partition Magic" to shrink the Windows partition to the size you want. Then install your Linux on the space now left behind. The installer will install GRUB which will allow you to choose whether you boot into Linux or Windows.

    If you don't have a partitioning program on your computer then you should be able to do it OK using the Kubuntu installer. I don't personally like doing it this way but its a matter of preference

      Yes, basic advice: just install as normal, the installation will sort out partitions, boot menus etc for you.
