Where to set up network

Hi...Can someone please point me in the right direction...

where do I set up a network connection please..ip address / Host etc.

an easy GUI way to do that is KMenu>System Settings>Network Settings(Under Internet & Network) Then enter 'Administrator Mode...' by pressing the button at the bottom of the screen. You should then be able to modify your IP and such on the ethernet ports. I'm sure there some super slick command line way to do it too, but I don't know it.
