Hi, I got my ATI Radeon 8500 and I have downloaded drivers for it using synaptic. But still it doesn't work, I guess I have to write something in a file but don't know which...? Any ideas?

Re: Graphics don't work
What doesn't work about the card? Anyway, try this first: Open Terminal and type in....
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
Press enter. You'll then be presented with setup options for your monitor to include resolution, refresh, and others applicable to the ATI card. Go thru them carefully and write down which options you chose. If video is still not working to your satisfaction, do everything over again but this time select other options.
It took me three tries to get my video (monitor and Matrox card) working the way I wanted.
Regards.
