I am going to say, that Master snow and Master dibl may have fixed the problem. This "bug" of windows can be rather annoying. I don't know why windows doesn't cleanly unmount the drives during shutdown. Linux is smart though in refusing to mount the drive.

Would your ntfs-3g nouser,defaults,atime,exec,force 0 2 be a better use than ntfs-3g defaults,nls=utf8,umask=007 0 2 I suggested?Windows no longer obstruct my view.

Ok, after booting to windows, and safely ejecting the usb HD, I returned to Kubuntu and re-entered the command, here's what it said when I executed "sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdb1 /media/USB_HD
" :
The force mount wouldn't hurt anything would it?Volume is scheduled for check. Please boot into Windows TWICE, or
use the 'force' mount option. For example type on the command line:
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdb1 /media/USB_HD -o force
Or add the option to the relevant row in the /etc/fstab file:
/dev/sdb1 /media/USB_HD ntfs-3g defaults,force 0 0[img width=400 height=109]http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/2286/xzerorain4wm.gif[/img]Comment

No. Go ahead and change the fstab entry for the USB HD as the message is telling you. But change the last digit of the line from 0 to 2 so it looks like this:
Code:/dev/sdb1 /media/USB_HD ntfs-3g defaults,force 0 2

Well, it 'ain't' solved until you've booted, can see your HD and actually access it, so make the change, reboot and post back.Windows no longer obstruct my view.
