need help importing xml(konqueror) bookmarks to firefox

after my messing with KDE, it became unusable.
So I'm sitting with gnome now and wondering how to import the bookmarks from konqueror.
I tried using firefox "Organize bookmarks -> import" , but it did nothing. I had too many bookmarks to rewrite everything by hand.
the bookmarks are in "~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/" folder in xml format.

Any ideas?

Open Konqueror.
Select Bookmarks | Edit Bookmarks
Click the topmost item (Bookmarks)
Click on File | Export | Export to Mozilla Bookmarks

Windows no longer obstructs my view.
