am using kubuntu breezy.... am not sure whether firewall and anti virus are required for linux bcos the r not much viruses for linux.... if so which one is the best ?? plz help me with the package that i need to install.... thnx in advance

You don't need a firewall because no ports are open by default. But Firestarter seems to be the firewall most people use.
You don't really need a virus scanner, but clamav (KlamAV is the front-end) is pretty good.
Lots of people use this combination if they are using their linux box as a gateway (firewall, kind of) between their Windows box and the internet.<br />
