I cant sign in as root it wont accept my password and i know my password is correct i use the same password all the time everywhere. How do i fix that now ??

This link should answer all your questions about this.
Basically, root account access is disabled, and all admin privileges are done via 'sudo', which allows for temporarily granting admin privileges to the first user account created during the install. -
