hi. just now i installed kubuntu 5.10 breezy. i wanna play mp3 songs and movie in .dat format from my windows partition. i dont know what player to use and how to access hard disk. help plz. thnx in advance

Hi,
For your disk access, it should be in /media/<nameOfDrive>. If not can you post your /etc/fstab and tell us how is your disk (one disk, first partition windows, second "/", third swap, ...)

Hey, I just learned how to do this. I'd say the two most helpfull pages were, this page on mounting a Windows XP (ntfs) hard drive and this wiki entry on getting more repositories/codecs. I hope they help.Comment

thnk you sky. i edited fstab and mounted the partition on /windows folder. it works great. and for mp3 songs i installed real player and VLC player. but am still looking for player which supports .dat format.....
