If you login just fine *but* find when you switch users, they log into a blank screen, this work around may just help you out http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...96889#msg96889
but, I noticed something. fstab has something to do with this. something about it. mount maybe? not sure exactly what, let me explain. I was messing around with fstab adding entries for all of my external devices and I played with plenty of options... at some point, I saw the splash screen and login just perfectly for another user... I never thought of linking it to fstab because I honestly thought an update fixed it. anyhow, i reverted back to the default fstab and the issue reappeared. I lost those changes to fstab...
to sum it up. fstab out of the box gives me this problem. something about adding entries for all my external devices fixed it. what could it possibly be?
