OMG!!!!!
I spent couple of hours just because I can't see 4 f***ing letters - UUID?
I would expect that such a "small" problem cannot cause kernel panic!
It's very right that I put my post to section "Help the Newbie"
Next time I'll put my post to "Help the blind!"
What kind of cheap beer do you mean Qqmike? I am from country of the beer, so it's very cheap but the best in the world! Pilsner Urquell! Where should I send it?
Well, Snowhog caught the UUID (he put it in bold-face type).
I just caught Snowhog, is all
You are not alone.
Yesterday I typed in the kernel line
root =sdb5
Correct, right? Nope. I also got syntax error.
Took me 15 minutes to see that I forgot device:
root=/dev/sdb5.
(In fact, leaving off the leading slash before dev will get you in trouble, also).
We all do this, all the time. Anyone not getting errors is someone who is not working on/with their system!

Anyone not getting errors is someone who is not working on/with their system!
Or, someone who has a working system and isn't pushing the envelope!

The 0x is part of the error message itself. In essence it's saying "I don't understand the pointer you provided" or "expecting [something here]88d08091-d9cd-45a8-830a-61ed100852ba"

Well, for an inebriated :P blind 8) person you seem to be doing quite well! I could understand a braille keyboard (maybe), but how do you see the screen?!
