Display filename in KDE desktop background slideshow

I'm using the built-in slideshow to change my background picture every 10 minutes.

It's a nice feature - but it can get distinctly frustrating when I think "Ah, yes... I remember that... when was it?"

Is there a way of getting the filename to show somewhere (discretely) on the desktop? Or even on request. Better still, to show the metadata from the jpg file?

    Answers on a postcard please...

    I never heared of that.
But you might want to do a search for superkaramba.
Plugins for that program might do the trick for you.

Thanks - that looks useful. I'll give it a try.

FWIW I found the current desktop background image filename stored in ~/.kde/share/config/kdesktoprc as CurrentWallpaperImage=xxx.jpg
