Re: I don't know how to install anything i DL off the Internet,Can someone help
Since you posted under New Guy, I'll assume that you haven't got the word about downloading files randomly from the Internet and installing them on your Linux system. Here's the magic formula:
New Guy + Kubuntu = DON'T DO IT!
Seriously, there are 22,854 packaged applications in your standard repository, if you add the Medibuntu repository. I don't know anything about Second Life -- maybe someone can help you with that one. Winrar is a Windows compression app, and Linux has built-in compression capabilities, if you need them. But winrar.exe won't work on Linux -- neither will any other .exe file.
At a point in time when you're comfortable with your Kubuntu system and you find a Debian packaged application, recognizable by its ".deb" extension, then if it is a match to your architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) you can download and install that without getting into too much trouble.

Re second life, search this forum for more on that, there have been a few threads on it just this week.

If you have kubuntu then it is probably because it doesn't work on Linux when you download something like a game it should say what thingy(Linux, windows) it can be downloaded on if it doesn't say linux you can't download itI love fairy's i would love to become one as they are so beautiful and special. I changed my name it used to be amber123.

Re: I don't know how to install anything i DL off the Internet,Can someone help
I had second life running. It was not for me, but to each their own. I kept reaching for my BFG 9000 and it wasn't there... I agree with the other posters about installing software. If you have a rar'd file, you likely have the wrong version.
Choice 1: Use packages in the standard repositories
Choice 2: Find the software packaged in another repository you can add
Choice 3: Use GetDeb http://www.getdeb.net/ make sure you use the debs for your version. Second Life is there, but only for Feisty. You can always contact the contributor and ask if they will build a package for Gutsy. Usually, they get updated eventually.
Choice 4: Compile using a good how-to or instructions for your version of buntu.
Good luck. Keep that live CD handy as it sounds like you may be needing it.
