Missing X, -, + in upper right corner of window

New Kubuntu user here...

Not sure if I did this or this is the way it was when I installed it but I have no X, + or - in the upper right of any of my windows. So I can't close a window, maximize or minimize it like I am use to. I can't seem to find where to change this.

Do you mean that you have a working title bar but the buttons simply aren't there?

Or do you mean that your windows seem to be fouled up and you have no title bar at all?

If you have a title bar but simply no buttons then highlight the title bar, right click and choose "configure window behavior". In the dialogue click the buttons tab and you can drag or remove buttons from the title bar preview in this tab. Once you have it the way you want it don't forget to click apply.
