    broadcom 802.11g

    My networkcard doesn't work under kubuntu. ( broadcom 802.11g )
    Can anybody help me please.

    open kmenu-system-adept manager and install the

    wlassistant
    package.
    See if you can connect using this instead of the network manager. If not post back.

      That will not do anything. In order to get more than 11mbs you need to install ndiswrapper and the windows driver. The restricted drivers gui may make it easier, but this should still work:

        That depends. If the problem isn't with the card but with knetworkmanager, as I have seen happen a few times, then it will. Otherwise, it won't, but it is a simple thing to check before diving in.

            Sorry for dismissing your advice. Broadcom based cards require some specific steps to make them work and work properly. There is quite a bit of information available for those willing to search.

              ok give us the output (from kmenu-system-konsole) of:

              lspci

              and

              lshw -C network

                  i have a connection to the internet but i can't secure the network with wep or wpa-psk.
                  is there a sulotion for this problem
