Some things just don't work right on firefox and only seem to work on IE such as videos on Helloworld. Is there an alternative to firefox or a way to make something work like IE?

Re: alternative to firefox
Don't know if it will work for what you want but I use the opera browser.
http://www.opera.com
I haven't tried it but I suppose you could look into running internet explorer under wine.

Yes, you can check out ies4linux:

I am not a fan of Opera. Non-open source. Results in terms of website compatibility for me were poor. I paid for it (guess it is free with no ads now) on windows and linux and attempted to use it for a period of months. Some neat features, but if it doesn't render web pages, not too useful. I don't want to start a flame war, just suggesting that you check out other alternatives first.

Re: alternative to firefox
I have tried Konqueror and fewer things work on it than Firefox I just tried Opera and it didn't do what I need and it was really slow.
I don't know where to get flock or Iceweasel, I couldn't find them in Adept, Automatix2 or Synaptic.
I installed wine and ies4linux and it doesn't work any better and as it says on their site it doesn't support media player and playing videos one some websites is the problem I am having.
Would IE on VMWare Player Win XP setup be any different? If so how do I do that?

Re: alternative to firefox
I couldn't find any debs of the current version of iceweasel. You can download the source from here and compile it:
http://gnuzilla.gnu.org/download/
I downloaded both versions. I am not sure which one is right for gutsy.
** th 386 file is the binary and the other is the source. The 386 ran fine. I am trying to compile the source, but am having problems. I had to install libidl. I get through the configure, but after quite some time, the make exits with errors. Will continue trying.
You can download a deb of Flock here:
http://www.getdeb.net/app.php?name=Flock
Good luck.

Re: alternative to firefox
dibl was making a joke when he mentioned iceweasel. Hence the immensely grinning smiley.
Iceweasel is simply a slightly modified version of firefox which is intended to be completely free. So if it doesn't work in firefox it won't in iceweasel either. This exists because of an arguement between debian and mozilla when mozilla asserted their control of the rights to the firefox name and logo. See the following wikipedia articles for more:

Re: alternative to firefox
The same should be true of Flock as well then since it is also based on FF. This discussion got me looking though and I found SwiftWeasel which I am pretty please with. Don't think it solves your issue, but it is a fast, completely free version of FF.
