omg this is frusterating can someone pls tell me how to access apt-get and debian packages i cant remember and its not in the other posts

you might wish to try Adept and on Gutsy it should be found under the K menu > system > Adept Manager, Manage Packages (something to that effect). If you insist on using apt-get, try man apt-get or apt-get --help for a very brief version of commands and tips. If you need to enable repos for more packages, this can be done from the Adept Manager File menu OR by directly editing /etc/apt/sources.list. Be careful. good luck! -
