difference between Ubuntu 7.1 and Kubuntu 7.1

anyone tell us what the differences are between these two? (especially for MAC PPC)

looks like there is a distro for MAC PPC out for ubuntu 7.1 but not yet for Kubuntu 7.1

The difference is that ubuntu uses gnome desktop while kubuntu uses KDE. Behind the scenes the two are identical and it is just at the level of the desktop that they differ. The following link will give you some idea what that means:

The main difference is their philosophies. Gnome is about being simple to use, while KDE is more about customizability. This is manifested as a different set of applications.

Obviously with this being the kubuntu forum we all prefer KDE here.
