    error with openarena

i have downloaded and installed these three files from this site http://www.getdeb.net/release.php?id=1379

When i try to play the game i get

    rob@laptop:~$ /usr/games/openarena
/usr/lib/games/openarena/openarena.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libopenal.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

if i just chose it from Games > Arcade the icon loads but then goes away?

Thanks, should I download all the files listed there or just the libopenal.so.0?

Ubuntu packages is search tool/page for X/K/Ubuntu repositories.

Just install package: libopenal0a, it will install libopenal.so.0. If you are using Adept > Search: libopenal0a > Request Install ...

        Apt-get:
        sudo apt-get install libopenal0a

Package manager will install correct version: amd64/i386/powerpc

Packages whole name is: libopenal0a_0.0.8-4ubuntu2_i386.deb, libopenal0a_0.0.8-4ubuntu2_amd64.deb or libopenal0a_0.0.8-4ubuntu2_powerpc.deb.

If you don't have internet connection (you are downloading packages on the other machine). Follow the links to the Package Download Selection.

            Hmm - what programs ?

            Package: libopenal0a
            Replaces: libopenal0
            Depends: libc6 (>= 2.6-1)
            Conflicts: libopenal0

              Wow that worked!

I've tried out many distros and Kubuntu is the very first to use my on board IBM R40 graphics straight away, it almost seems strange playing a fully 3D game in Linux!

Pity there aren't many modern staged FPS's, the majority of them seem to be space/future themed, nothing like Counter srtrike or ghost recon...

              Anyway, thanks for your help
