Lock Account, Go Back to Login Screen?

When you lock an account, is it possible to go back to the login screen? not get the tiny little dialog to reenter your password but the actual login screen?

Well, if you lock your account that means no one else but you can use it. So to unlock it and use it someone has to give the right password. When you / someone gives the password you / someone gets back into your account.
If you are the only user on your machine why lock it?

I do not have the only account on the system. my son (2) has an account and although he is a pretty good multitasker, he cannot read and write. *but* through the face browser he can easily get in. through the dialog box, he cannot (as easily).

if this is not easily possible, no big deal. i thought I ask and get a yes, no or some help on it

          thanks

Re: Lock Account, Go Back to Login Screen?

Well you only lock your account if you are leaving that computer for any given period of time but want to get back into a running session, like downloading a file, writing a text, editing a video, etc. easily without loging out.

If you have another user then just log out and have him/her login again.

Or start a new session: K menu -> Switch User -> Lock Current & Start New Session. Unlike Windows XP, Linux does it properly.
