hi I'm new in Linux i need to install Kubuntu but i try to install the 7.04 version and i have a error bug bios message and i try to install the 7.10 version and this time i can see the first menu, but when i chose run and install and it begins to charge the system i have another error but i cant see all error microcode , i have a laptop hp pavilion dv 6120 an amd turion 64x2 1 gb ram nvidia 6150 video card someone can help me

Try this:

Once it starts to boot (- and you see the screen where you can choose to install?) - press F6.Then at the end of the line put

noapic noloapic

and press Enter.

This should allow you to install.

pues intente con el quote pero psss me pasa lo mismo jejej cada ves veo un pokito mas, pasa a una pantalla que tiene las caracteristicas de mi procesador turion detecta que hay dos procesadores y despues tice ..timer: vector =0x31 apic1=0 pin1=0 apic2=-1 pin2=-1 y ya hay se quda creo qeu mi laptop no se iso para kubuntu

?Como se dice Kubuntu no es para su laptop? ?Y porque hablando espanol y no ingles? Si quiere, describe su problema mas especifico, y en ingles, por favor. (Hablo ingles, no hablo espanol generalmente )

sorry, se me olvido que era en ingles, i forget that was in English, ok i want to install kubuntu if u see my first post i have erros when i want to install it, i have use Quote to install it but the pc freeze in the process, if i choose run and install, start loading the kernel then the kubuntu loading then i think that load the system but y have an error in microcode i can see all the error because the screen become black and freeze, can someone can help me to install kubuntu im super new with linux and i need them for develop in school please and thanks to all

If the live cd gives you problems I think your best bet is to download and try the alternate-cd. Also when you burn it burn it at a low rate 4x or less to minimize the chances of problems with the burn.

The alternate-cd does not include the fancy GUI (Graphical User Interface) of the Live CD; it asks you a series of questions, and installs from your given answers. Both CD's generally install the same content, just one has a nice GUI and the other is mostly command driven.

hi ... i have install kubuntu finaly with the alter cd, =D finaly now i have another problem XD, when my pc star loading it freeze in loading hardware drivers, my "!·%·$&$$ laptop is curse xD , this time there are no erros just freeze, can someone help me please

Can you tell us exactly what behavior you are seeing. You say

I'm not sure how to interpret this. Are you simply seeing a black screen or black screen and blinking cursor. Or are you seeing a specific error message of some kind?

y turn the pc on i see the grub menu, i choose kubuntu7.10 kernel 2.6.22-14-generic i see the kubuntu loading screen i press alt+f1 to see the text mode

reading files need to boot ...ok
selling preliminary keymap...ok
preparing restricter drivers ... ok
set clock ... ok
loading hardware drivers ...

and then freeze the cursor blinks but i wait 2 hours and never change

i install kubuntu 7.10 x64 alternate cd

I'm not finding a solid lead for a solution. Based on your most recent post I have done some searching and am seeing that there appear to be many people with hp laptops running turions that seem to have the behavior you describe under feisty and later versions, as well as newer kernels in some other distros. Unfortunately I'm not seeing any consistent solution and some of the solutions people discuss have nasty side effects like very poor performance, no usb etc. You might try a different distribution. I'll put some more effort into this later but I'm not confident I'm going to come up with anything.

thanks a lot bro =D i want this distribution because the teacher use it and all use it, i try sabayon but i can't compile in it because a library mistmatch i will try others thanks to all
