hangs + no kde

Hey guys,

just installed the 64 bit version and it hangs on "checking battery
state" unless i do recover mode, any ideas? also it throws me right into a text based interface instead of kde...

attempting dual boot on a compaq nx6125 turion 64bit laptop..

It could be a problem with the NVIDIA drivers. See this thread:

Could you try if changing "nvidia" to "nv" in "/etc/X11/xorg.conf " solves the problem ? See the thread for more details ...

In my case, the installer results in a blank screen.

Environment :
Nx6125
dual boot with MS xp

prax, I would give a shot to the latest beta (it is fairly close to release quality)
