        Re: network interface not found

I am not an expert, but I would add the command at the end of the file: /etc/profile

          Re: network interface not found

No. Knetwork manager doesn't work very well. Use Adept and remove it. Go to K>System Settings>Network. Find your interface and configure it and you should be good to go.

            Re: network interface not found

Still no good. I tried removing network manager and the k->systemsetting->network. Its not auto detecting the device'eth0'.
            if i run the command
            $sudo insmod /lib/modules/2.0.20-16-generic/kernel/drivers/net/atl2.ko
everything is fine until i reboot.

I connected to internet and did some updates, then i saw the kernel in my modules. Can i make it only one which i need.

            Thanks a lot for advices

              Re: network interface not found

So it sounds like the module is not listed to load at bootup. Is that module listed in /etc/modules? If not, add it.

                  Re: network interface not found

"i cant find any module folder."

                  It isn't a folder.
There should be a file named modules in the etc directory. You should be able to right click on it and open it in kate.
If you want to modify the file then you would need

                  kdesu kate /etc/modules

so you can write the file (owner is root).

                    # This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
                    # at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.

That looks correct. When you boot with that does it work?

                          Re: network interface not found

                          Type the command:

                          dmesg|more

Look through the output for errors/failures. Copy and paste any here.
