wifi (sorry to bore you!)

Hello,

Just installed kubuntu on my laptop, looks great, and performs great - apart from it wont pick up my wireless card, when i flick the switch on to enable wireless it just says "bluetooth recognised" (bluetooth and wifi on the same switch). cant find any wireless applications and network manager doesnt load (no errors - jsut doesnt come on)

had ubuntu installed before and wireless card workes fine!

Anyone got ideas? dont make me go back to xp! :-(

In kmenu>system settings>network settings
is your wireless card listed (will be described as 'wireless network device' in the comment column)?
and is it enabled?
