Off-Topic: Borland C++ builder

Hello everyone,
I joined a university and we are using "Borland C++ Builder" for programming.

I just wanted to know if what I learn can be easily ported to Linux, Including the programs.
As I noticed they give error messages when trying to compile the code with g++.
