hi, I installed kubuntu on a friend's system but he is asking me how to add a direct shortcut to the desktop, for example he wants to open the link to this forum that way, thanks

Yes, you can just drag and drop it on the desktop (from the file manager). You can copy, move or link, the latter is what you want.

Right click desktop > Create new ...

Link to Location (URL)...

A KDesktop dialog box will open. In the File name: type a name for the URL link. In the Enter link to location (URL): type or past your URL. That's it.

With the link on the desktop, right-click | Properties
On the General tab, click the icon to get a pick-list of icons to choose from.
