The Intel i915G isn't going to give you super fast frame rates - it isn't a gamers video card.

What setup do you have? You've identified your video card, but are you running a desktop or a laptop? What manufacturer and model?

Okay. Are you dual-booting from this machine? I'm assuming you are, but ...

If you are, what version of *ubuntu are you using - Ubuntu or Kubuntu - and what version (Dapper, Edgy, Feisty, or Gutsy)?

What monitor do you have? Manufacturer and model, and what is the maximum resolution it is capable of displaying?

Open a console shell and type:
                Code:
                lsb_release -a
                This will display the

                Release:
                Codename:

Are you currently displaying the full 1280x1024 resolution when booted into *ubuntu?

Yes I do use the 1280X1024 when I login to ubuntu.

Re: Help with DRM, Mesa 3D, and X.Org

Good. Then you won't need to install the package I was getting ready to suggest.

Let's now see how well your video card handles 3-D rendering. From a console shell, type:
                    Code:
                    glxgears
You *should* see a window open with three colored spinning gears. Let it run for a bit. In the console you will see information about the frame rate your card is capable of when rendering 3-D graphics. Here is what mine reports:
                    Code:
                    5052 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1010.243 FPS
                    5204 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1040.766 FPS
                    5146 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1029.032 FPS
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Wow this time it's weird I usually do this test and I get about 700-800 fps, this time it's 1000

                      5630 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1125.962 FPS
                      6095 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1218.949 FPS
                      6096 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1219.054 FPS

That's about the best you are going to get from this video card.

Given that the power of this card is "so-so," you might want to ensure that any video intensive applications are shut down before you play warcarft III and see if the performance improves any.

Omg, the fps is still the same.
I shutdown everything, and it's still the same.
Maybe it's because warcraft III uses directX?
How do I make cedega use OpenGL for warcraft 3?

DirectX? Hmm. I'm not a gamer, so can you confirm that it does in fact, use/require DirectX when running under Windoze?

You can always (if you have not already done so) install Wine and see if Warcraft will run under that with any better results.

Nope Wine plays it at 2 fps, well I figured out how to make it opengl, but now the game has so much color corruption, the colours are way too bright.
